Are you a skilled musician / music educator with experience in preparing candidates for assessment?

AMEB Victoria is currently recruiting for examiners in all instruments, but with a particular focus on those with specialisms in strings or brass.

AMEB Victoria examiners are responsible for the assessment of candidates at various times throughout the year in both metropolitan and regional Victoria and availability between October and December along with a willingness to travel to regional venues would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have:

  • • a tertiary qualification relevant to their specialist examining area, or equivalent experience
  • • experience as both a performer and teacher, with a demonstrated record of excellence in at least one
  • • highly developed communication skills, particularly with children
  • • good interpersonal and report-writing skills
  • • current Working with Children Check or VIT registration

Our examiners are casual employees, paid at an hourly rate plus superannuation. Travel allowances are payable where applicable.

About AMEB Victoria

AMEB Victoria is a controlled entity of the University of Melbourne and a registered charity. It operates alongside other state AMEB organisations and works closely with AMEB Ltd, the federal company responsible for syllabus development and publishing of AMEB exam materials.

AMEB Victoria typically provides over 24,000 exams in practical music, music theory, and speech & drama each year across the state.
