Associate and Licentiate Practical exams are held in Studio 1 at the AMEB Studios in Hawthorn, which is equipped with a Steinway grand piano. Diploma candidates wishing to rehearse in the studio may do so when it is not being used for exams. Availability is limited and session times will be published as they become available.

Studio Rules:
- All bookings are made online through Trybooking.
- Studio 1 will be available only on weekdays during business hours.
- Studio hire is not available on weekends.
- Bookings can only be accepted from individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
- Candidates under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times while using the studio.
- The pianos in the studio must not be moved under any circumstance.
- No food or drink is to be taken into the studio.
- No more than four people are to be in the studio at any one time.
- Piano exams are normally conducted with the piano lid opened on the short stick.
- Bookings cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are non-refundable.
