Enrolment

Can I request a specific date for my exam?
No, but you can request dates to avoid.
I’ve missed the closing date, can I still enrol?
Yes, within 7 days of the closing date, but a late fee will be charged.
There’s a mistake in my enrolment details; how do I correct it?
You can request a correction within 5 business days of receiving the confirmation of enrolment. After that, an additional fee may be charged.

Repertoire exams
Can a vocalise be sung for a Repertoire exam Own Choice work?
No. The vocalise is part of the Technical Work in the Singing or Musical Theatre Comprehensive exam.
Can an orchestral excerpt be performed as a Repertoire exam Own Choice work?
One orchestral excerpt does not meet the Own Choice requirement. All the required excerpts must be performed in the Repertoire exam and count for one Own Choice work.
Can one movement of a work be performed as an Own Choice work?
If multiple movements of the work are listed as one List work in the Comprehensive exam then all of those movements need to be performed in the Repertoire exam, and count as one Own Choice work. If a single movement is performed in a Repertoire exam it must meet the educational standards of the other List works.
What is the difference between a Repertoire and Comprehensive exam?
A Repertoire exam includes 4 or 5 pieces, depending on the syllabus. The Comprehensive exam includes Technical Work, pieces and Section 3 tests (Aural Tests, Sight Reading and General Knowledge.)
Can I use a digital piano for my video?
Piano candidates may use a digital piano for Level 1 (Preliminary to Grade 4) exams only.
Piano for Leisure candidates may use a digital piano for Level 1 and Level 2 (up to Grade 8) exams.
Digital pianos must meet the following specifications: keyboard size – 88 notes; action – weighted and touch sensitive; pedals – fixed and functioning as for acoustic pianos.
